One of the best byproducts of self development work is that you start to do things out of love for yourself--since you become so curious about you: your emotions and analyze why you do everything that you do... becoming curious about your external habits comes second nature. 💕⠀
For me, questioning the stuff I wear on my skin came first! I suffer from eczema (on my eye lids of all places!) so finding products that wouldn't leave my skin and face dry are already a must but I also noticed that none of the lotions I was using were making any difference & regular make up was making it worse. ⠀
That's when EWG (environmental working group) became my bible. It told me what products were harmful, cancer producing, water retaining & still were sold in stores. Luckily, they have an app called healthy living you can download to scan barcodes in and quickly check scores. 🙌🏽🙌🏽⠀
My friend who was in the process of finding new skin care herself referred me to a site called follain-- where all products are low toxicity (normally a 2 or lower) which was brilliant!! A place I could get non-toxic products, especially that I use everyday? NO BRAINER. Being apart of Follain, I knew I was in good hands 💝⠀
Check out my quick 10 MIN morning routine and all product deets below. All products have an EWG score of 2 or lower! 📸: @shotbyonye ⠀

Hey Ranis & Rajas! When it comes to makeup and beauty, I am all about enhancing the features & embracing the natural beauty that all of us have. Over the years, I'd like to think that I have perfected my craft in making my make-up look natural. (Normally it takes me 10 mins of less to apply!) I get tons of compliments and questions around what make-up I use.. which is why I thought it would be best to blog on my regime.
2. Cheeks: When I first tested out the CK make-up line, I asked the make-up lady to give me the "J LO Glow" (JLO always looks so naturally beautiful who wouldn't want to imitate her make-up tactics??) What the lady gave me back in return was amazing! She gave me this shimmer (4th on the list) which you put over the bronzer. The amazing thing about CK One Cheek bronzer is that it is not the same color as my skin!!!! (Normally bronzer is). The CK brand gives my skin a perfect glow.
3. Eyes: The purple eyeshadow palette is the secret to bringing out brown eyes. The Loreal version has all shades of purple so you can make it look casual OR you can use the light and dark purples to make an amazing smoky eye for a night out. This is a MUST HAVE. Stiletto Mascara has been so good to me and my eyelashes. You don't need to use a lot to see the difference in length and thickness. And last but not least, my Covergirl Eyeliner which I have been using since I first started applying make up. It is the family favorite between my sister, my mother and me. Some black liners don't even show up on my skin BUT this Covergirl brand never let's us down and ALWAYS works.
Hi Ranis & Rajas... One day I was walking around in Trader Joes with my sister and picked up this little bottle that said JoJoba Oil. I was like wtf? This sounds sooooooo Indian- and of course I had to try it out. It was actually founded by the Native Americans but the plant is used in India to prevent desertification (aka so all the water doesn't dry up..)
Honestly, it was the best purchase of the day.. apparently JoJoba helps skin acne, skin smoothness, & extra dry skin but.. the best part is how amazingly it works as makeup remover. It works perf. to remove heavy eye make-up AND your eyes don't even burn. AFTER you're done using it as a basic (and best) make-up remover-ever, you massage it on your skin to rejuvenate your face! Screw all those chemy infested anti-wrinkle, anti-dry "creams"... switch to JoJoba and you won't even regret it, swear!
