Hi guys, I took almost 2 years off from blogging because I needed to find what I'm really supposed to be doing on this planet. I mean I love fashion & am planning on launching a line, but I have always been deeply disturbed by the standardization of sizes.
Especially for girls, it is so easy to judge each other based on what size we wear. Do we really care if you are a size 2 and I am a size 14? It should have nothing to do with the quality of a person.
When I was a teen, I remember how vicious a girls' locker room was, comparing sizes while changing into our PE clothes or going shopping with my friends and family was something that I dreaded. I remember always picking a size that was smaller than what I really was and forcing myself to wear it. I was really embarrassed about being a size 9 then. I constantly wished and hoped that one day I would just wake up and be a size 0.
This seeded a low self esteem in myself that took years to overcome. Now, in my adult years, I really want to do something to reduce or completely eliminate this notion of "fat" and "too skinny" based on sizes of clothes. After 2 years of soul searching and reflecting within myself, I REALLY want to shed light onto the technologies that can fundamentally remove this particular social stigma from our society to impact us for the positive.
If we have the technologies that can enable us to have customize sizes at the tips of our fingers.. why shouldn't we utilize it.. or figure out a way for it to happen?
If sizes didn't exist would it help reduce judgement from others?

What is a magic mirror? It shows a reflection of you but also augments things like: the clothes or make up you are wearing. You would be able to buy things that look flattering to your body, possibly exactly to your size, could test different make ups on your face.. without ever having to leave your house.
Intel created one (not sure what happened there) but ultimately you can see yourself in this mirror wearing different augmented styles.
Think of a world where a mirror takes your size, sends it to a 3D printing shop & you get your clothing shipped. Ok, this is not a reality... yet. But IMAGGIIIIIIINEEEEEEEEEEEEEE that type of simplicity?
I mean it's surreal, amazing even that we can do things like this now. I would LOVE to have this type of supply chain built into my KARISH. line especially since I want to get rid of sizes all together!
Also imagining the next generation of this.... imagine designing your own clothes, picking your fave. fabrics etc. and having everything made-to-order. UNREAL.
